Chhath Puja Evening Arghya: Today, on the third day of Chhath Puja, the third day puja has ended with the offering of evening arghya. According to religious beliefs, there is a tradition of offering Arghya to the setting sun on the third day of Chhath. This puja and fast is mainly done with the desire to do it for the happiness of the children and the welfare of the family. After offering Sandhya Arghya in the evening, the fasting women also recite the Vrat Katha. It is said that after offering Sandhya Arghya, it is considered very important to recite the Vrat Katha. Chhath Mahaparva starts with Nahay-Khay, Kharna on the second day, evening Arghya on the third day and this fast ends after offering Arghya to the rising sun on the fourth day.

This time on October 27, the time of sunset was valid from 4:50 pm to 5:51 pm. During this period, at many places including Bihar, Jharkhand, UP and Delhi, devotees offered Arghya to the setting sun and completed their puja. However, the timing of offering evening Arghya was different in all the cities.

Purity and strict rules are followed in this fast which lasts for four days. There is a religious belief that by observing this fast all the problems related to children are removed. Also, one attains happiness and good fortune. The main days of Chhath Puja are considered to be Sandhya Arghya and Usha Arghya. After offering Sandhya Arghya, now Usha Arghya will be offered the next day i.e. on 28th October.
When will Usha Arghya of Chhath Puja be offered?
Sunrise time on October 28 is 06:30 am. All those who have observed Nirjala fast for 36 hours will offer Arghya to the rising Sun during this period. Chhath festival will also end with offering Arghya to the rising sun.
