Continue the fast:- Traditionally Chhath Puja is not left midway, hence fast can be observed.

Distance from puja material:- Any puja material, such as prasad, fruits, or puja thali should not be touched.

Any other Arghya:- To offer Arghya, take the help of a male member of the family (like husband) or a female member (like an elder member of the family).

Viewing the ghat from a distance:- You can go to Chhath Ghat, but do not offer Arghya while standing in water and maintain some distance from the worshippers.

Worship in mind:- Chant the name of God in your mind and chant Surya mantras.

Attention to cleanliness:- Wear clean and new clothes during Chhath fast.

If it is the fifth day of your period or after that, then you can offer Arghya to the Sun God by following some rules. If it is the first, second or third day of your period, then you should avoid offering Arghya. Chhath Puja fast is a traditional festival that continues from generation to generation, hence the fast should not be broken in between.

What are the rules of Chhath Puja fast?

Purity, restraint and discipline are considered to have special importance in the rules of Chhath fast. During this period, one should not consume garlic, onion, non-vegetarian food and alcohol. During Chhath, the fasting person should eat pure and satvik food, wear new or clean clothes, sleep on a mat spread on the floor, use bamboo basket (soup) in puja and should not talk while making Prasad.
