Sunrise will be at 6:30 am on Tuesday, October 28. On this day, fasting women will stand in the sacred water of ghats, rivers and ponds and offer Arghya to the Sun God with full rituals. On this occasion, devotees pray to Chhathi Maiya for happiness and prosperity of their family, longevity of children, good health and new energy in life. With this, the four-day rigorous penance and 36-hour waterless fast ends. After offering Arghya, the fast is broken by offering thekua, jaggery, banana, coconut and seasonal fruits.
