CM Yogi on Chhath Parv Lucknow: CM Yogi Adityanath has made a big announcement on Chhath Parv. He said that Gomti river will be made completely clean and suitable for Chhath Puja. The government has started a special campaign for cleaning the ghats and water conservation.

Thousands of devotees reached the Laxman Mela ground on the banks of Gomati, where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself reached Chhath Ghat and encouraged those offering Arghya. When CM Yogi said from the stage amidst Bhojpuri songs, ‘May the blessings of Chhath Maiya be upon everyone’, the entire ghat echoed with cheers. The Chief Minister said that Chhath is a great festival of folk faith, which gives the message of spiritual progress as well as social unity and gratitude towards nature. He said that this festival is not only a medium of self-purification, but it also reminds us of our ancient Indian heritage and family values.

During the program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath enjoyed Chhath songs and released ‘Bhojpuri Sanesh Souvenir’. Addressing the devotees in Bhojpuri language, he said, ‘May the blessings of Chhath Maiya be upon everyone, may there be happiness, prosperity and prosperity in the families of all the people. As a single wife, we seek blessings from Chhathi Mai. We seek blessings from Chhath Mai for as many people as possible to share their fast and pray that the Goddess fulfills everyone’s dreams.’ On hearing this, the devotees present at the ghat started dancing. The whole atmosphere became devotional. The Chief Minister said that the festival of Chhath connects the Bhojpuri community across the world and it is a symbol of the soul of India’s culture and devotion.

CM Yogi said that Chhath festival is associated with the feeling of family happiness, prosperity and public welfare. He said, ‘This penance of four days is an example of the strength of our society and the strong loyalty of mothers and sisters.’ The Chief Minister said that this tradition, which has been going on since ancient times, has now spread all over India. From eastern Uttar Pradesh to western areas, lakhs of people in every city are engrossed in the devotion of Chhath. He said that today 50 thousand to 1 lakh devotees are celebrating Chhath in cities like Noida and Ghaziabad. This shows that this festival is not just religious but has become a symbol of social unity.

CM Yogi said that cleanliness of Gomti is very important during Chhath Puja. He said, now no drainage or sewer from Talkhanau will fall into Gomti. Gomti will flow clean and uninterrupted from Pilibhit to Ghazipur. The Chief Minister said that in the last two years, there had been complaints regarding water level and bad smell in Gomti. But this time with the help of administration, irrigation department, municipal corporation and voluntary organizations, the condition of the river has improved. He said, ‘If the water of Arghya is not clean, then how will God accept it? Therefore, it is important to keep the river as sacred as a temple. CM Yogi said that in the coming one and a half years, Gomti will be completely clean and uninterrupted. He appealed to the devotees that after Chhath Puja, everyone should take part in the cleanliness campaign and make it a part of their faith.

Cleanliness is not just administration, it is the duty of every citizen – CM

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that no country can develop unless its citizens understand their national duty. He said, ‘Clean India campaign is not only the responsibility of the government but of every citizen.’ He appealed to the people to avoid single-use plastic and polythene and said that if every person takes a pledge not to throw dirt in rivers and drains, then half the problem will be eliminated there. CM Yogi said that this effort will realize the vision of developed India and self-reliant India.
