Chelseas Zabi Alonso Praises Morgan Rogers After Bournemouth Victory

Chelsea’s head coach, Zabi Alonso, hailed Morgan Rogers as a modern player following the team’s impressive 5-1 victory over Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.

The young English star played a pivotal role, scoring a goal during the Premier League match.

Since joining Chelsea from Aston Villa before the season began, Rogers has now netted four goals for the club. In addition to Rogers, Jordan Henderson and João Pedro each scored twice, contributing to the team’s dominant performance.

Rogers has made a remarkable start at Chelsea, having scored in his debut against Fulham and also finding the net against Arsenal and Hull City. He has also provided four assists in eight matches for the club.

Despite playing over 70 matches for club and country since the beginning of last season, Rogers continues to make an impact. He also represented England in the World Cup.

Alonso commented on Rogers in an official statement, saying, “His form is no surprise because he is young, fresh, strong, and fast. He is a very complete and modern player.” He emphasized the importance of Rogers’ availability, stating, “He enjoys his football because he is a great person and connects well with his teammates and everyone. His impact on the team and club is significant.”

In the match, Chelsea started strong, with Henderson scoring just two minutes into his home debut. The midfielder received a pass from Cole Palmer and fired a shot from outside the box that deflected off the post and into the net.

Henderson doubled Chelsea’s lead shortly after, and just a minute later, Rogers scored. The 24-year-old midfielder assisted Rogers, who shot into the far corner, with the ball slightly deflecting into the net.

Chelsea maintained a two-goal lead until João Pedro scored just a minute into the second half, making it 3-0. Pedro Neto created the opportunity with good work on the flank before the forward finished with a pass.

Bournemouth managed to pull one back through Ivanilson, but João Pedro restored Chelsea’s three-goal cushion in the 67th minute. Henderson then sealed the victory with a stunning free-kick from nearly 25 yards out, scoring his second goal.

With this win, Chelsea climbed to fifth place in the points table, amassing 10 points from six matches.
