Chelsea sign Joao Pedro on 7-year contract from Brighton, Brazilian forward eligible for Club World Cup

New Delhi: Chelsea have signed Brazilian forward Joao Pedro from Brighton in a deal worth £60 million to further bolster their attack ahead of the new season. Pedro was on the radar of a few clubs and was being targeted by Newcastle United. However, the 23-year-old snubbed approaches from others to sign a seven-year contract with the Blues.

Much to the delight of Chelsea fans, the new signing has been added to their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 squad and will be available for their quarter-final clash against Palmeiras on Saturday. Pedro flew from Brazil to the United States last week, where he underwent his medical before signing his contract as a Chelsea player.
