When will the sutak of lunar eclipse start?
On September 7, Sunday, the sutak of lunar eclipse will start at 12.57 pm, which will end with the eclipse. That is, after 12:57 in the afternoon, all the rules related to sutak will be valid. All deeds related to Shraddha should be done before the eclipse starts, these are classical rules. Shraddha Pitra does not accept Shraddha performed during Sutak.

The right time of Shraddha-tarpan on 7 September 2025
According to the Antyakarma Shraddha Prakash Granth, Kutap Kaal is the best time for Shraddha. The time of Kutap period is usually from 11.36 am to 12 noon in the afternoon. This time is considered special auspicious and virtuous for Shraddha and Tarpan, because the ancestors are satisfied with the Shraddha performed at this time and we get their blessings.
