Similarly, the sutak of lunar eclipse starts 3 prahar i.e. 09 hours before. Sutak automatically ends with the eclipse.
These works are not done during Sutak period
During Sutak period, puja, havan, yagya and auspicious works are not performed. No new or auspicious work is started during this period. During this period, cooking and eating is prohibited. Auspicious events like wedding, mundan, house warming are not organized during Sutak period and eclipse period. After the start of Sutak, pregnant women are not allowed to go out of the house. At this time, the idols of Gods and Goddesses and the Tulsi plant are not touched.
