Kvaratskhelia, who scored a double against Chelsea in PSG’s 5-2 win against Chelsea in the first leg, once again managed to get on the scoresheet against the Premier League side. He scored the opener for PSG in the sixth minute to give them the lead in the second-leg tie. Barcola made it 2-0 in the 14th minute with the help of an assist from Achraf Hakimi as PSG put the game to bed in the first half.
Mayulu scored a third in the 62nd minute to end any hopes of a Chelsea comeback as PSG registered a massive 8-2 win on aggregate to continue their title defence in style.
Manchester City exit after Real Madrid defeat
Manchester City were the second English club to get knocked out on Tuesday after their 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the second leg of the Last 16. Having thrashed Guardiola’s men 3-0 in the first leg, Real Madrid continued their winning run against the Premier League giants with yet another convincing display.
City were down to 10 men after Bernardo Silva was sent off in the 20th minute, and Real Madrid made the most of the advantage. Vinicius Junior converted a penalty in the 22nd minute to put Real Madrid 1-0 ahead. Erling Haaland helped City equalise in the 41st minute to head into the half-time at 1-1.
However, Vinicius ‘ injury-time goal helped Real Madrid secure a 2-1 victory to emphatically seal their qualification, which was a mere formality after their 3-0 win in the first leg.
