This year Chaitra Navratri is starting from 19th March, which will end on 27th March. Establishing Kalash has special significance during Navratri. There is a religious belief that by installing the Kalash at an auspicious time, the special blessings of the Goddess remain for nine days. In such a situation, let us know the most auspicious time to install the Kalash.
Most auspicious time to establish Kalash
According to the Vedic calendar, this year the main auspicious time for setting up the Kalash will start at 06.52 am on the first day of Navratri. This auspicious time for establishing the Kalash will last till 07:43. Pandits and astrologers are calling this auspicious time as the most auspicious. This auspicious time for establishing the Kalash is going to last for 51 minutes. Install the Kalash at this auspicious time on the day of Navratri.
If due to some reason the Kalash cannot be established in the morning Muhurta, then the Kalash can be established from 12:05 PM to 12:53 PM in Abhijeet Muhurta.
Why do we install Kalash?
On the first day of Navratri, Goddess Durga is invoked by setting up a Ghat. During the puja, barley is sown in an earthen pot and a Kalash filled with water is placed on it. Mango leaves and coconut are kept in the Kalash. This Kalash represents the power of Goddess Durga. Along with the installation of the Kalash, the Mother Goddess is worshiped for nine days by lighting the sacred flame.
