Chaitra Navratri 2026: Chaitra month has started from today. Navratri is considered to be the most special festival in Chaitra. Chaitra Navratri is celebrated every year in this month. When is Chaitra Navratri 2026?
According to the Panchang, this year the Pratipada Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month will start on March 19 at 06.52 am. This date will end on March 20 at 04:52 am. In such a situation, Chaitra Navratri will start from March 19 itself. Chaitra Navratri will end with Ram Navami on 27th March.
Chaitra Navratri Ghatasthapana Muhurta
This year there are two auspicious times for Ghatasthapana on Chaitra Navratri.
- The first auspicious time will be from 06:52 am to 07:43 am on March 19.
- Kalash can also be established in Abhijeet Muhurta in the afternoon. Abhijeet Muhurta will be from 12:05 pm to 12:53 pm.
Navratri worship method
- On the first day of Navratri, wear clean clothes after taking bath in the morning.
- Then spread red cloth at the place of worship and place the idol or picture of Goddess Durga.
- Sow barley in an earthen vessel and put coin, betel nut and Akshat in an urn filled with water, place a coconut on its mouth and tie Ashoka leaves.
- Install it near the goddess’s post.
- Light a continuous flame and ensure that it burns continuously for the entire nine days.
- If you cannot light the Akhand Jyoti then light a lamp every morning during puja.
- During the puja, chant the mantra Om Aim Hreem Kleem Chamundayai Vichche.
- Recite Durga Saptashati.
- Finally end the puja with Aarti.
Daily Pooja: Worship the idol and Kalash of Mother Goddess every morning for nine days. Offer Kalawa. Do Tilak. Recite Durga Saptashati and perform aarti.

first day of navratri Mother Shailputri, the next day Mother Brahmacharini, on the third day Mother Chandraghanta, on the fourth day Mother Kushmanda, on the fifth day Mother Skandmata, sixth day Mother Katyayani, seventh day Mother Kalratri, eighth day Mother Mahagauri and ninth day Mother Siddhidatri is worshiped.
