Story of Maa Siddhidatri
Religious belief is that once all the gods, troubled by the atrocities of the demons, went to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. Then the three gods created a divine power with their brilliance. She was known as Mata Siddhidatri. According to the legend, Lord Shiva performed rigorous penance for Maa Siddhidatri. By performing rigorous penance of his mother, God attained all kinds of achievements.
It is believed that by the grace of Mother Siddhidatri, half of Lord Shiva’s body became female. After this he was called Ardhanarishwar. Mother is said to be the giver of achievements. Mata Siddhidatri bestows eight types of Siddhis on her devotees like Anima, Mahima, Garima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakamya, Ishitva and Vashitva. Mata Siddhidatri has four arms, she sits on a lotus flower and her vehicle is a lion.
