Chaitra Navratri 2026 Kanya Puja Samagri: The holy festival of Navratri lasts for nine days. Today is the seventh day of Chaitra Navratri. Tomorrow is the Ashtami Tithi of Navratri. It is also called Durga Ashtami or Maha Ashtami. Kanya Puja is performed on the day of Maha Ashtami. Some people also do it on Navami Tithi. Kanya Puja has special significance during the time of Navratri. The Ashtami Tithi of this year’s Chaitra Navratri is tomorrow i.e. 26th March. Navami Tithi is on 27th March.
Before worshiping the girl, it is necessary to collect the material. During Kanya Puja, 9 little girls and one boy aged between 02 to 10 years are worshipped. Keep clean water for washing the feet of the girls, a clean cloth for wiping the feet, a seat for the girls to sit, Roli in the plate for doing Tilak, Akshat for offering to the girls, Kalava to tie on their hands, Chunni for covering the girls, fruits for the girls and halwa, puri and gram for providing food to the girls.
Kanya puja method (Chaitra Navratri 2026 Girl Puja Method)
Before Kanya Puja, worship Maa Durga and perform Havan. After this, invite girls between 02 to 10 years. Invite a boy along with the girls. Then wash the feet of all the girls and give them clean seats to sit. Then apply kumkum to them and offer Akshat. Perform Aarti by tying Kalava in the hands of girls. Then offer halwa, puri and gram to the girls. At the end, take the blessings of the girls by giving some amount and touching their feet.
Auspicious time for girl worship (Chaitra Navratri 2026 Kanya Pujan Subh Muhurat)
According to the Panchang, these three will be auspicious times for Kanya Puja on Ashtami day.
- First Muhurta: Will be from 06:16 AM to 07:48 AM.
- Second Muhurta: Will be from 10:56 am in the morning to 02:01 pm.
- Abhijeet Muhurta: Will be from 12:02 pm to 12:52 pm.
