Maa Shailputri Puja: The holy festival of Chaitra Navratri is starting from 19th March i.e. Thursday this year. Navratri On the first day, there is a tradition of worshiping Maa Shailputri, the first form of Maa Durga. Being the daughter of Himalaya, she is called ‘Shailputri’. The first auspicious time will be from 06:52 am to 07:43 am, whose total duration is 50 minutes. If you are not able to perform puja in the morning, you can take advantage of Abhijeet Muhurta in the afternoon. Abhijeet Muhurta of Ghatasthapana will be from 12:05 PM to 12:53 PM, whose duration is 48 minutes. Starting puja at the right time will bring happiness, prosperity and blessings to your home.

Simple method of worship of Maa Shailputri

  • Wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear clean clothes, which will bring ease in the mind.
  • Spread a red cloth on a wooden platform and install the idol or picture of Maa Durga with respect.
  • After this, establish the Kalash at the prescribed auspicious time, which opens the way for blessings and happiness in the house.
  • While meditating on Mother Shailputri, offer white flowers to her, because she loves white color very much.
  • Offer sweets or white things made from cow’s milk to the mother, which maintains happiness and peace in the family.
  • Light a continuous lamp of ghee during the puja, which removes negative fears of the future and maintains happiness and peace in life.

Aarti time and importance of devotion

At the end of the puja, it is mandatory to perform Aarti of Maa Shailputri. It is best to perform morning aarti at sunrise and evening aarti after sunset. The presence of the entire family together during Aarti increases mutual love and coordination. After Aarti, present your biggest wishes to the Mother Goddess and pray to her to remove the obstacles in life. Aarti performed with true devotion and reverence removes future obstacles and infuses new energy within the person. Due to this, there is a strong possibility of increase in wealth and respect.
