Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc trailer
First announced in December 2023, the film adapts the manga arc introducing Reze, one of the series’ most talked-about characters. Unlike the anime directed by Ryu Nakayama, the film takes a slightly different visual approach under director Tatsuya Yoshihara, with the script penned by Hiroshi Seko, who also worked on the original series.

Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc cast and storyline
The returning cast includes Kikunosuke Toya as Denji, Shiori Izawa as Pochita, Tomori Kusunoki as Makima, and Fairouz Ai as Power. New to the line-up is Reina Ueda, voicing Reze. Composer Kensuke Ushio, known for A Silent Voice and Devilman Crybaby, also comes back to score the film, adding to the hype.
MAPPA describes the story as: “Denji became Chainsaw Man, a boy with a devil’s heart, and is now part of Special Division 4’s devil hunters. After a date with Makima, the woman of his dreams, Denji takes shelter from the rain. There he meets Reze, a girl who works in a café.”
The film adapts about one and a half volumes of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga, which debuted in 2018 in Weekly Shonen Jump. The original manga quickly rose to fame for its unpredictable plot, brutal action, and emotional storytelling, making it a cult favourite among fans worldwide.
The Chainsaw Man anime, released in 2022, already set the bar high with its cinematic animation and gritty tone. The Reze Arc movie is expected to push that boundary further, blending romance, heartbreak, and bloody chaos in true Fujimoto style.
