Central Delhi Kings Secure Eighth Victory with 30-Run Win Over East Delhi Riders

  In the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026, the Central Delhi Kings triumphed over the East Delhi Riders by 30 runs on Tuesday.

The match took place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The Central Delhi Kings now lead the standings with eight wins out of nine matches, while the East Delhi Riders, suffering their sixth loss of the season, have been eliminated from the title race. They are joined by the New Delhi Tigers, who are also out of contention for the top four.

Batting first after losing the toss, the Central Delhi Kings were restricted to 179 runs in 19.5 overs. The team faced early setbacks, losing both openers in the first over. By the time they reached a score of 14, they had already lost their third wicket.

Keshav Dabas attempted to stabilize the innings with Jonty Sidhu, forming a partnership of 54 runs for the fourth wicket off 44 balls. However, once this partnership was broken, the Kings struggled again.

Keshav Dabas scored 18 runs, while Jonty made 41 runs off 28 balls before returning to the pavilion. Aditya Bhandari then contributed significantly, partnering with Mani Grewal for 38 runs and with Vansh Bedi for another 32 runs, pushing the team to a competitive total. Grewal added 11 runs, and Bedi contributed 27 runs. For the Riders, captain Simarjeet Singh and Rohit Yadav each took three wickets, while Aashish Meena, Raunak Waghle, and Mayank Rawat claimed one wicket each.

In response, the East Delhi Riders managed only 149 runs for the loss of seven wickets. They faced an early blow, losing Vansh Mehra (1) on the fifth ball. Sujal Singh then partnered with Arpin Rana to add 30 runs for the second wicket off 23 balls. Sujal scored 12 runs off 11 balls before being dismissed. Arun Pundir quickly followed up by dismissing Uday Chawla (0) on the next ball.

The Riders lost three wickets by the time they reached 32 runs. Arpin Rana took charge, forming partnerships of 28 runs each with Mayank Rawat and Suryansh Raina. Arpin scored 25 runs off 26 balls, including three fours.

Ankit Kumar also contributed, adding 23 runs with Suryansh Raina for the sixth wicket and 20 runs with Raunak Waghle for the seventh wicket, but they could not secure victory. Suryansh scored 38 runs for the team. For the Kings, Gavnish Khurana took three wickets, while Arun Pundir claimed two.
