Hardoi Woman Suicide Case: In Ajmatpur village of Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, 23-year-old married woman Priyanka committed suicide by hanging herself 24 hours after the first wedding anniversary. Before dying, he left an emotional suicide note in the name of his one and a half month old daughter. The police is investigating the entire matter amid allegations of dowry harassment.
UP NEWS: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh. Here a 23-year-old married woman committed suicide just 24 hours after celebrating her first wedding anniversary. This incident has shocked the entire village. The most painful thing is that before dying, the woman also wrote a small suicide note, in which she asked to take care of her one and a half month old innocent daughter. After reading this note, not only the family but also the people of the village became emotional.
Celebrated anniversary, took such step the next day
This incident took place in Ajmatpur village of Atrauli police station area of Hardoi district. Vishal, a resident of the village, was married to Priyanka about a year ago. On Saturday, both of them celebrated their first wedding anniversary with the family. There was an atmosphere of happiness in the house. But no one had any idea that such a big incident would happen the very next day. On Sunday afternoon, when the men of the house had gone to work and the women of the house had gone out to graze the goats, Priyanka hanged herself by making a noose of saree in the room.

Crying girl revealed the secret of the closed room
After some time, when Priyanka’s sister-in-law returned home, she saw that the one and a half month old baby girl was crying loudly. She went towards the room to calm the girl. As soon as he peeped into the room, the ground slipped beneath his feet. Priyanka’s body was hanging from the noose of her saree. Seeing this scene, there was a commotion in the house and people nearby were immediately called. Later the police were also informed.
“Take care of my daughter… ok bye”
Police reached the spot and also found a suicide note from the room. Priyanka had written her last words in this note. It was written in the note – “Take care of my beloved daughter. I did not understand anything. Don’t do anything, otherwise who will take care of the daughter. Live happily friend… Okay bye.” At the end of the note he has also written ‘Babu ji’. Police are now also investigating what this word means and in what context it has been written.
Allegations and counter-allegations started regarding dowry
The matter has become more sensitive after the incident. The maternal side of the deceased has made serious allegations against the in-laws. Priyanka’s mother Geeta says that her daughter was harassed for dowry. She alleges that son-in-law Vishal used to demand a bike and a gold chain and because of this Priyanka was tortured. The family says that it may not be suicide but murder. Whereas husband Vishal says that Priyanka was under mental stress for some time and that is why she took this step.
Police engaged in investigation, waiting for post mortem report
As soon as information about the matter was received, Atrauli police station reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. According to police station in-charge Satish Chandra, the police have taken possession of the suicide note and started investigation. The handwriting of the note will also be matched to confirm that it has been written by Priyanka. Police say that only after the post mortem report comes, it will be clear whether this is a case of suicide or there is some other reason behind it.
