Tata Nexon became the best selling car in January 2026. Including its electric variants, a total of 23,365 units were sold. This shows an annual increase of 51.75 percent. This proves its continued popularity across petrol, diesel and electric variants. Right behind it was Tata Punch. Punch also recorded its best ever sales in January. Punch sold 19,257 units, an increase of 18.64% year-on-year.

Creta at number three

Hyundai Creta stood at third place with sales of 17,921 units. However, its sales declined marginally by 3.24 percent. This points to increased competition in the mid-size SUV segment. After this is Maruti Brezza, which sold 17,486 units. It registered an annual growth of 18.57 percent due to sustained demand from cities and small towns.

Mahindra Scorpio also in the list

Mahindra Scorpio and Scorpio-N sales stood at 15,542 units, which is only 0.65 percent more than last year. Another new model to make it to the top ten is Maruti Victoris. Maruti Victoris made its place in the list by selling 15,240 units in the first month of January.

Maruti Suzuki is at number seven in the Franks list. It sold 13,353 units, which is a yearly decline of 12.11%. At the same time, 12,413 units of Hyundai Venue were sold, which shows an increase of 11.77% year-on-year. Mahindra Bolero maintained its strong hold in the rural and fleet segments by selling 11,841 units. This is an annual increase of 36.39 percent. Kia Sonet is at the last position in the top 10 list with sales of 10,998 units and registering a massive YoY growth of 52.88 percent.
