aadhaar card update
Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made major changes to make the process of updating Aadhaar card easier, faster and completely online. These new rules have come into effect from 1 November 2025. Now from 1 November 2025, you will be able to update your name, address and mobile number online through myAadhaar website. For this you will no longer need to go to the Aadhaar Service Center. However, if you want to get biometric updates (like fingerprint, eye scan or photo) done, then you will need to visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
UIDAI said that the facility of uploading documents and auto-verification will now reduce manual processing. The UIDAI website also details which updates can be made online, at which centres, and which documents will be required. If a person does not update the information on time or faces problems in linking, he may face disruption in services or financial problems.
