Aamir Khan’s team has addressed the increasing rumours that he was involved in the distribution of Coolie, starring Rajinikanth. The Bollywood actor will make a cameo in the upcoming Tamil movie, which also stars Nagarjuna in significant role. To address the flurry of rumours about his involvement in Coolie’s release in Hindi, Aamir Khan’s tea, has finally issued a statement.
Aamir Khan Productions’ spokesperson cleared that neither Aamir Khan nor any of his associates are involved with Coolie’s distribution in North India. They also explained that he hadn’t called distributors or exhibitors about it.
“Neither Aamir Khan, nor anyone from his team is involved in the distribution of Coolie. Mr Khan has not made any calls to any exhibitor or distributor. His cameo in the film is purely a gesture of his bond with director Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth. Everyone at AKP, especially Aamir Khan, is thrilled with the success of Sitaare Zameen Par’s YouTube release and is overjoyed with the response it has received,” read the statement.
The report added that trade experts think Aamir and Rajinkanth’s partnership is a deliberate power play amidst escalating business rivalries rather than merely a friendly favor.

Sun Pictures, Coolie’s producers had earlier this year declared that Pen Marudhar and Pen Studios will manage the Rajinikanth-starrer’s release in a larger North Indian market. The movie will be available in theaters in Hindi and all other South Indian languages on August 14th. The Tamil movie will clash against War 2, which stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani.
In the meantime, Aamir Khan has been working on the Dadasaheb Phalke biopic alongside Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the director of 3 Idiots.
