CAG report broke old assumptions, UP economy created new history. CAG REPORT Up Revenue Surplus Yogi Adityanath Economic Growth

CAG Report Uttar Pradesh: In the CAG report, UP was told at the top of 16 surplus states of the country with ₹ 37,000 crore revenue surplus. Tax collection and budget doubled, record increase in GSDP, economic change from Yogi government policies.

Uttar Pradesh, once called ‘sick state’, has now achieved such a position on the economic front, which the whole country is paying attention to. In the latest report of India’s Accountant General (CAG), UP has been described at the top of the list of 16 states, which are in the revenue surplus (Revenue Surplus). The state has recorded a revenue surplus of ₹ 37,000 crore in FY 2023. This achievement shows that the policies of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the government’s schemes of double engine have not only improved the financial health of UP but have also made it an exemplary example.

BJP ruled states better

The CAG report states that states like Gujarat, Odisha, Jharkhand, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh are also in surplus after UP. Most of these are ruled by BJP. The report also states that many small states of the Northeast – such as Arunachal, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim – are included in the surplus.

12 states are still struggling with revenue deficit

While states like UP are in surplus, 12 states like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, West Bengal and Punjab are still struggling with losses. According to the report, the income of these states is not able to meet their needs and they have to depend on the grants received from the Center.

Doubly speed in tax collection and budget

The CAG report has particularly outlined UP’s financial achievements.

  • Tax Collection: While ₹ 54,000 crore was in 2012-13, it increased to ₹ 2,25,000 crore by 2024-25.
  • Budget size: From ₹ 2 lakh crore to 2025-26 in 2012-13, it exceeded ₹ 8 lakh crore.
  • Gross State Domestic Products (GSDP): It is estimated to increase from ₹ 8 lakh crore to 2025-26 in 2012-13 to reach ₹ 30 lakh crore.

This report is not only the story of data, but it shows that UP is now becoming the identity of backwardness and economic crisis. The double engine government has made UP’s image ‘unmatched’ from ‘sick’ to ‘sick’ by the government of double engine through revenue collection, budget management and economic reforms.
