Back in the 2023 Sankranthi season, Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy clashed with Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya at the box office.
Interestingly, both films were produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner.
Despite releasing against each other, both films performed exceptionally well and emerged as box-office hits.
Fans of both stars celebrated the festive clash with tremendous excitement, creating a memorable Sankranthi season.
Now, after four years, history appears to be repeating itself. Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara and Nandamuri Balakrishna–Gopichand Malineni’s yet-to-be-titled film are reportedly gearing up for a Sankranthi 2027 release.
A festive box-office clash could prove beneficial for both films by generating more buzz and audience interest.
It could be especially helpful for Vishwambhara, which is currently carrying relatively low expectations.
A direct competition with Balakrishna’s film could add excitement, increase the hype around its release, and ultimately work in its favor if the content connects with audiences.
