Wayanad Car Fire Incident: A very sad incident came to light from Ermatheruvu in Mananthavady area of Wayanad district of Kerala. 42 year old businessman M.P. Sajeer died after setting his car on fire late at night. When this incident happened, his wife and three children were also present inside the car. According to reports, the incident happened around 11 pm. Sajeer then came to Mananthavadi with his wife and children from Kutta village in Ponnampet taluk of Kodagu district of Karnataka.
What happened that night?
According to investigators, Sajeer married local businessman E.C. in Mananantwadi. Parked my car outside Bappu’s house. It is alleged that they poured petrol inside the car and then set it on fire. After the fire, the car went out of control and collided with Bappu’s house. Hearing the loud noise, nearby people reached the spot. People helped extinguish the fire and somehow pulled out the family members trapped in the car. However, Sajeer was seriously burnt, due to which he died on the spot. Police have recovered pieces of plastic container from the spot. It is feared that these were used to bring petrol.
Wife seriously burnt, children safe
Sajeer’s 37-year-old wife Najmunnisa suffered 50 percent burns. He was first admitted to Wayanad Medical College, later sent to Kozhikode Medical College for better treatment. At the same time, two year old daughter Ayesha has suffered minor injuries. 14 year old son Nibran and 9 year old Nissan are completely safe. Police said that all three children were inside the car at the time of the fire.
Sajeer used to run a bakery
Sajeer was originally from Vallithode near Iritty in Kannur district. He was running a bakery in Kutta for the last few years. According to the police, earlier Sajeer was the owner of the commercial building where the bakery was running. Due to financial difficulties he gave the property on lease. Later, due to inability to repay the loan, the ownership was transferred to the lease taker EC Bappu.
Allegation of transaction of Rs 20 lakh
Investigation has revealed that Sajeer had lent about Rs 20 lakh to Bappu. It is alleged that despite repeated demands, the money was not returned, due to which Sajeer was in serious financial trouble. Perhaps for this reason Sajeer committed suicide outside Bappu’s house. The entire incident happened in front of Bappu’s house. The burning car crashed into his house.
Sajeer made serious allegations in the video
A video recorded by Sajeer some time before the incident has surfaced. In this he held businessman EC Bappu responsible for his condition. He accused him of fraud in financial transactions related to building transfer. In the video, allegations have also been made against a person named Rafiq from Poojakallu. Police said that both Bappu and Rafiq will be interrogated.
Bappu called the allegations false, claimed to give Rs 25 lakh
Bappu termed all the allegations as baseless and said that he had given about Rs 25 lakh to Sajeer and was running the shop for the last three years. At present, Manantwadi police have registered the case and started investigation. Police are taking statements of relatives and witnesses. The focus of the investigation is to find out how serious the financial dispute was and whether there was any kind of external pressure on Sajeer.
