Burnt body found inside car in Karnataka, police suspect deceased to be son of former MLA

New Delhi: In a chilling incident in Karnataka’s Dharwad district on Tuesday, a charred body was found inside a car near a railway track in Ramapur village. The police has said that the the identity of the deceased could be Raju Bolashetti. He is the son of Baburao Bolashetti, the former Belagavi MLA but there is no confirmation yet on the dead body’s identity.

Car belonged to Raju Bolashetti

Preliminary probe has revealed that it was Raju Bolashetti’s car, and the vehicle was found parked near the railway track and the burnt body was inside it. According to reports, he was missing since Monday, and according to the suspicion of the police so far, perpetrators murdered Raju elsewhere and later set his body on fire inside the vehicle to wipe out the evidence. One of his friends has confirmed that the car belonged to him.

Police probing the case

A senior police official told The Indian Express, “The body was found in a severely charred condition, making identification difficult. We suspect the incident may have taken place at another location, and the body was brought here and burnt using an inflammable substance.” The police, forensic teams, including fingerprint experts, have examined the site and collected evidence.

The forensic and laboratory analysis would confirm the identity of the deceased. In his area, Raju Bolashetti was known as a progressive farmer who supported educational initiatives in the village. Also, he was not an active politician and was known as a friendly person. The police are probing the case for further revelations.
