The impact of the incident of misbehavior with the narrator in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh is now being seen in Bihar as well. A disputed decision in Tikulia village of Adapur police station area of Motihari district of Bihar caught everyone’s attention.
The villagers here have written boards and warnings on the entrance of the village and electric poles and announced that “worshiping the Brahmins is strictly forbidden, they will be punished if they are caught.” The villagers have their own argument behind this disputed move. Villagers say that they are opposing the so-called Brahmins who do not have the real knowledge of the Vedas and who consume meat and drink in the name of the tradition of worship.
Villagers claim that they do not accept such storytellers and priests who are misusing religion and culture. The villagers also say that they welcome all those who have the right knowledge of the Vedas and scriptures, whether they are from any caste or class. His move has been taken against the hypocrisy and commercialization spreading in the name of religion.
Etawah fire spread to Bihar
The entire controversy came to light after the misbehavior with narrator Mukut Mani Singh Yadav in Etawah. There he was allegedly prevented from narrating and humiliated on the basis of caste. On the basis of caste identity, his head was shaved, he was severely beaten and a woman’s urine was sprinkled on him in the name of purification. The incident was strongly opposed after the video went viral. Protests took place at many places across the country. Four accused were later arrested. The uproar over the incident is still going on.
Why the villagers ban Brahmins
After the incident, debate started in many places across the country whether the knowledge of Vedas and scriptures should be limited to only one caste? Now incidents like preventing Brahmins from worshiping and issuing warnings in Tikulia village of Bihar are becoming a matter of concern for social harmony. The villagers here have taken such a decision to eradicate caste discrimination so that no one is abused like Etawah.
