Bumper voting in Bihar elections 2025: More than 60% voting till 5 pm! Know where the maximum votes were cast

In the first phase of Bihar Elections 2025, 60.18% voting took place on 121 seats in 18 districts. Highest voting took place in Begusarai and least in Sheikhpura. After peaceful voting, the fate of all the candidates is sealed in EVMs.

Voting is underway on 121 assembly seats in 18 districts for the first phase of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. The public has shown tremendous enthusiasm in this festival of democracy. According to data released by the Election Commission, a total of 60.18 percent voting has been recorded till 5 pm. This data shows that voters are very aware about their present and future and have come out of their homes in large numbers.

District wise voting percentage (till 5 pm)

Some districts remained at the forefront in terms of voting percentage, while at some places the pace appeared a little slow.

  • Record breaking voting: Begusarai (67.32%) and Samastipur (66.65%) witnessed the highest turnout, followed by Madhepura (65.74%) and Muzaffarpur (65.23%).
  • Moderate performance: Voting percentage in Saran, Khagaria, Vaishali and Darbhanga ranged between 58% to 61%.
  • Condition of the capital: In the capital Patna, 55.02% voting was recorded till 5 pm, which is slightly less than the average.
  • Lowest voting: Lowest voting took place in Shekhpura (52.36%) and Bhojpur (53.24%).

Long queues of voters were seen at the polling stations since morning. Voting was conducted peacefully amid tight security arrangements made by the Election Commission and the district administration. At many polling stations, a lot of enthusiasm was seen among the elderly, women and youth who were voting for the first time.

As polling ends at 6 pm, the fate of candidates on all 121 seats will be sealed in EVMs. Now all eyes are on the exit poll on 11th November and the counting of votes on 14th November.
