Bulandshahr: A few days ago, a headless body of a woman was found near a canal. While investigating this sensational case, the police have arrested the woman’s boyfriend and one of his relatives. The accused, named Vikas Kumar, was living in a live-in relationship with the deceased woman for many years. Recently he was preparing to marry another girl, which the woman opposed. There was a fight between the two regarding this matter and the matter reached the point of murder. The deceased woman was a widow and had three daughters. According to the police, 38-year-old Babli Devi was a resident of Kalyanpuri, Delhi. He was murdered on the bank of a canal in a forest near a village in Narsena area of ​​Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.

Mystery solved through social media

On March 15, Babli’s decomposed body was found in Ghunghrawali village. When no clue was found at that time, the police cremated the body on March 18, considering it as unknown. But for identification, the police had shared the woman’s picture on social media. On March 22, Babli’s family saw this picture on social media and contacted the police, after which the entire murder case came to light.

Husband died of cancer, accused used to work with her husband

Bulandshahr SP (City) Shankar Prasad said that investigation has revealed that the main accused Vikas Kumar (32) is a resident of Bulandshahr. He previously worked with Babli’s husband in a private hospital in Delhi and was well acquainted with the family. About two and a half years ago, Babli’s husband died of cancer. After this, a relationship developed between Vikas and Babli and both started living together in Delhi. But in December 2025, Vikas decided to marry someone else, which soured their relationship. Babli was constantly pressurizing Vikas to stay with her.

All three first drank alcohol and then tied Babli’s hands and legs and beheaded her with a sharp weapon. To hide the identity, they threw the head about 500 meters away. After this horrific incident, Vikas attended a family function in his village, got married and then returned to Muradnagar in Ghaziabad. To mislead the police, he had also lodged a missing report of Babli.

The SP said, “We detected his presence at the crime scene after examining the CCTV footage. He was arrested from Muradnagar. Later, Aman was also caught in Bulandshahr. The weapons used in the murder, an illegal gun and a bike have also been recovered. Vikas and Aman have confessed to their crime. Efforts are on to nab Sachin.”
