Arsenal are set to lock horns against Fulham in an important Premier League match today (Tuesday, April 1).
The two London clubs collide at the Emirates Stadium as the top-flight football in England resumes after the international break.
The Gunners have been injury-stricken all season, missing various key players throughout the campaign. With some top attackers out with injury, the North London club has lost pace in the title race and would need something miraculous to win the Premier League title this season.
During the international break, they suffered another blow as Riccardo Calafiori suffered an injury and Mikel Arteta confirmed that the Italian defender will be missing out a few weeks, which means he will not be available for the upcoming Champions League tie against Real Madrid.
However, a much more significant relief has finally arrived for the Gunners, who have received a huge boost. Bukayo Saka, Arsenal’s starboy, has resumed full training for the last week or so and is ready for action. Arteta confirmed that the England star is back and is raring to go.
“Bukayo is ready to go. All the careful things he’s already done, so now it’s about putting him on the grass in the right moments,” Arteta said at the pre-match press conference on Monday.
“He’s pushing because he really wants it. We have to respect the timeframe, but we have done everything and we have had to hold him back even, so he’s ready to go,” he added.
Will Bukayo Saka Play Today vs Fulham?
Bukayo Saka is ready to feature again for Arsenal, which is a massive boost. Although the Arsenal ace hasn’t played a match since his injury and may need some time to be reintegrated into the squad, he’s likely to feature in the match today against Fulham. Mikel Arteta said that the player is currently fit to start, but it is likely that Saka will be given a cameo role against Fulham in the Premier League, with the Champions League tie against Real Madrid coming up. The Gunners manager may not want to rush Saka into action today and probably will integrate him slowly into the starting action. There is a possibility of Saka starting but he will probably come off the bench.
