LOS ANGELES (AP) – The Buffalo Sabres achieved their fourth consecutive victory with a decisive 4-1 win against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, bolstered by Zach Benson’s goal and assist.
In addition to Benson, teammates Tage Thompson, Sam Carrick, and Rasmus Dahlin contributed goals, while Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 26 saves, helping the Sabres maintain momentum in their push for the playoffs.

Buffalo’s scoring was highlighted by Carrick and Dahlin, who netted goals just 59 seconds apart in the third period. Benson capped off the scoring with an empty-netter, marking the team’s twelfth win in their last thirteen games.
Kings’ Struggles
The Kings entered the match as the second wild card in the Western Conference but fell behind the Nashville Predators after their loss. Artemi Panarin scored for Los Angeles, marking his fifth consecutive game with a point.
Additionally, Anze Kopitar tied Marcel Dionne for the franchise record for points scored on home ice. Anton Forsberg made 28 saves during the match.
Game Dynamics
Los Angeles started strong, with Panarin scoring a power-play goal midway through the first period, marking the first goal allowed by the Sabres on the road in 176 minutes, which included two shutouts against Vegas and San Jose.
Despite this early setback, Buffalo dominated the remaining periods. A failed coach’s challenge by the Kings for a high stick preceded Carrick’s assist on Dahlin’s power-play goal, further solidifying the Sabres’ control of the game.
