Budget 2026: FM Nirmala Sitharaman to present her 9th straight Union Budget today, may shift from tradition

New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will deliver her ninth straight Budget in the Parliament today. This will be the first time that the Union Budget is being presented on a Sunday. In her budget speech, the Finance Minister will focus on the economic vision and reform agenda for the country.

While traditionally, finance ministers in their budget speeches focused on Part A, this time the focus will be on Part B. Even as Part A talks about the state of the economy and focuses on policy direction, Part B touches upon tax proposals. Sitharaman is expected to speak at more length in Part B this year, in a push towards both policy reforms and economic goals.

As per reports, the Part B will focus on a roadmap leveraging domestic strengths and pushing India’s economy to become further strong. Her speech will focus on India’s potential and goals in various sectors like manufacturing and trade.
