Kim Taehyung (V) is not the only connecting force between his BTS bandmate Suga and his Hwarang co-star Go Ara, there might be more to it, at least that’s what eagle-eyed fans are deducing. Just when we thought Suga, aka Min Yoongi, is possibly the most non-controversial rapper of the septet, he got caught up in a wave of dating rumours. On August 19, social media started buzzing with “evidence” that Suga might be in a relationship, or be close beyond just friends, with actress Go Ara. Suga is now the latest idol to get embroiled in the unexpected speculation that is gaining traction online.
How did the dating rumours begin?
It all started when fans began pointing out what they believe are similarities in the two stars’ social media posts. The rumours center on Barcelona, where both are alleged to have posted pictures with similar backgrounds on the same day. Fans have also pointed out supposed similarities in clothing and accessories, leading ARMYs to conduct their own online investigations. However, there’s no confirmed report that Suga and Go Ara are currently dating, and neither star nor their agencies have spoken out about the news publicly.

Why are Suga and Go Ara connected?
The latest rumours began to surface after fans compared Instagram posts posted by Suga and Go Ara. On July 2, Suga apparently uploaded pictures from Barcelona, including the Sagrada Família. Fans also saw that Go Ara had uploaded content from the same landmark on the same day.
Some fans immediately noticed the timing and location of the posts and began comparing details from the posts. Online discussions have centered on alleged similarities between their outfits and accessories, with some fans suggesting the similarities could mean they were travelling together.
But these observations do not prove the two stars were together. There are no publicly available photos of Suga and Go Ara together in Barcelona. Infact coincidentally, Suga’s visit also overlapped with the dates of in Spain on June 26 and 27, though it has not been confirmed why Go Ara was in Spain.
Fans discuss the ‘evidence’
As the theory went viral across social media, posts outlining the alleged “proof” began to spread. Some fans have argued that the location and timing of the sightings are suspicious, while others have pushed back against the speculation, noting that visiting the same tourist attraction, which is popular, is no evidence of a romantic relationship.
Fans have apparently flooded Go Ara’s social media handles, mainly Instagram, with comments about the rumours. She later appeared to disable comments on her posts, although it is not confirmed that the decision was directly related to the dating speculation.

With Go Ara already being connected to BTS V, the rumours have gained even more attention. The actress starred in the 2016 historical drama, Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth, where Kim Taehyung, better known as V, made his acting debut.
Go Ara played the role of Ah-ro, the female lead, while V was cast as Han Sung, a young Hwarang. The two actors shared many memorable scenes, and they also appeared together during the drama’s promotional activities.
But that doesn’t connect Go Ara with Suga at all. Currently, there are no known public photos and no known public interactions between Go Ara and Suga that would verify the dating rumor.
