BTS’ Jin, known for his charismatic performances and warm presence, recently addressed the ongoing speculation about his potential acting career.
While ARMYs have long wondered if the multi-talented K-pop idol will make his acting debut, Jin shared his honest thoughts on the matter during an appearance on Leemujin Service.
Reflecting on his past aspirations, Jin confessed that he once dreamed of becoming an actor. “I wished to become an actor, but my parents wanted me to go to university first,” he revealed. However, his passion for music soon took over as he embarked on his journey with BTS. “When I joined BIGHIT and started pursuing the idol life, I started forgetting about my dream of acting,” he explained, adding that his love for singing has become his focus.

Despite his early desire to act, Jin expressed that he no longer has any interest in pursuing a career in acting. “Not at all,” he said when asked if he still thought about it. According to Jin, his role as an idol has allowed him to experience the variety of roles and emotions he once hoped to explore through acting. “One of the reasons I wanted to be an actor was the variety of experiences I thought it would entail. But as an idol, I was able to live through all those, so that dream is now forgotten,” he shared, emphasizing his contentment with his current path in music.
While this may come as a disappointment to fans who hoped to see him on-screen, Jin’s dedication to his music career and his passion for performance are clear. His perspective was met with praise from the host, who admired Jin’s healthy and focused mindset.
In addition to discussing his career, Jin also shared a heartwarming desire for the future. When imagining his life 10 or 20 years down the road, Jin expressed his wish to continue performing well into his later years. “I want to be on stage when I’m 50,” he said, showcasing his love for live performances and his connection with the stage.
Jin also recalled an unforgettable experience from when he performed alongside Coldplay at their Argentina concert. He was deeply moved by how the band’s families were there to enjoy the moment together. Inspired by this, Jin shared his own dream: “I want to be able to perform with my family, just like Coldplay.” This touching sentiment reflects his desire to blend his personal and professional life, creating moments of joy with loved ones.
