BTS member J-Hope has added yet another glittery feather to his bedazzled cap by winning the Best Singer award at the 52nd Korean Broadcasting Awards (KBA).

This makes him the first soloist in nine years to receive this prestigious honour. The award has gotten ARMYs super excited, who are now doing huge trends on X, congratulating Hobi for achieving this huge milestone.

J-Hope’s scores huge victory, but why was he absent from event?

The winners were announced on August 4, 2025, after being selected by a panel of 22 prominent media and academic professionals. Public voting accounted for 30 per cent of the judging process in the Best Singer, Best Actor, and Best Entertainer categories. Among the standout winners was J-Hope, the only BTS member to clinch the accolade. The host, while announcing the award, said, “Congratulations to J-Hope, the global artist who has imprinted K-pop on the world. Unfortunately, due to schedule conflicts, he could not be here today, but we will make sure this precious trophy is delivered to him.”

 
This recognition marks a significant achievement, not only for J-Hope as a soloist but also for the representation of K-pop on a global scale. The last time a solo singer won this award was in 2016, making J-Hope’s win a remarkable moment in the ceremony’s history.

Other notable winners at the 52nd Korean Broadcasting Awards included Park Bo-gum, who won Best Entertainer for The Seasons – Park Bo-gum’s Cantabile, and Lee Joon-hyuk, who bagged Best Actor for Love Scout. Yang Hee-eun was recognized for Narration, Joo Si-eun for Announcing, Choi Bool-am for Hosting, Song Yeon-hwa as Producer, and Seo Jun for Creative Staff (Sound/Visual).
