BSF shoots dead Pakistani intruder along international border in Banaskantha, Gujarat

Pak infiltration attempt foiled: A Pakistani intruder was shot dead by the Border Security Force (BSF) while attempting to cross the India-Pakistan international border in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district, officials confirmed on Saturday.

The incident took place late Friday night, when BSF troops observed suspicious movement near the border fence.

According to a BSF statement, the individual was spotted approaching the Indian side after illegally crossing the international border. Despite repeated warnings and verbal challenges from the soldiers, the intruder did not stop or retreat. “They challenged the intruder, but he continued to advance, prompting them to open fire. The intruder was neutralised on the spot,” the BSF said in a release.

Meanwhile, troops remain on high alert amid recurring attempts by infiltrators to breach the border. No weapons or identification documents were reportedly found on the deceased intruder. An investigation is underway to determine his identity and motive.

Previous incident in Rajasthan

Earlier this month, the BSF apprehended a Pakistani Ranger near the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan under suspicious circumstances. He was later released following standard diplomatic and security protocols, though the incident raised concerns about recurring border violations.

The BSF continues to maintain strict vigil along the India-Pakistan border.
