A case of illegal extortion in the name of providing online application and subsidy has come to light in Hamirpur District Industries Office. If the allegations were found true in the investigation, the government has suspended three officers and ordered disciplinary action.

A serious case related to corruption has come to light from Hamirpur district. The government has suspended three officers with immediate effect after complaints of illegal recovery in exchange for online applications and disposal of government files in the District Industries Office were found to be true. This action has been taken on the basis of the investigation report, in which concrete evidence of corruption has emerged.

The suspended officers include Assistant Commissioner Industries and in-charge Deputy Commissioner Industries Ravi Verma, Assistant Manager Santosh Rao and District Manager Milan Kumar. All of them are accused of extorting money from the applicants in the name of providing benefits related to government schemes.

Investigation committee formed after complaints

According to the information, complaints were being received continuously from the beneficiaries associated with the District Industries Office. It was said in the complaints that money was being demanded illegally for processing the online application, passing the file and getting the subsidy approved. Taking these complaints seriously, a two-member inquiry committee of Chief Development Officer and Additional District Magistrate Hamirpur was formed.

Corruption confirmed in investigation

The investigation committee made it clear in its report that illegal recovery was being done in the name of schemes with the mutual connivance of the officials. Preliminary investigation found the allegations to be true and solid evidence related to corruption emerged. After this the committee recommended strict action against the concerned officials.

Instructions for disciplinary action also

On the basis of the investigation report, the government has issued instructions to suspend the three officers as well as initiate disciplinary action against them. It is believed that other aspects related to the case will also be investigated in the further investigation.

This action is being considered an important step towards maintaining transparency in the implementation of government schemes in the district. The message has also been given that the government will not back down from taking strict action against officials involved in corruption.
