breast cancer screening
Till a few decades ago, the cases of breast cancer were less and most of these cases occurred after the age of 60, but now it is not so. The cases of this disease have also increased in the last five years and now women aged between 30 to 40 years are also falling prey to it. There are many causes of breast cancer, but some research has claimed that cosmetic products can also be associated with the risk of this disease. This research has also been published in the Breast Cancer UK Science Panel (breastcanceruk.org.uk).
According to research, cosmetic products contain many types of chemicals. These chemicals are used as preservatives. Whenever a woman uses cosmetic products, these chemicals can enter the body through the skin.
These chemicals can affect the functioning of estrogen hormone in the woman’s body and increase the risk of tumors. However, the research also states that there are very few human studies on this matter and the findings are not equally clear. It is not claimed that they cause cancer, but still it is better to use them in limited quantity.
Why is breast cancer occurring at a young age?
Dr Saloni Chadha, Associate Professor in the Department of Gynecology, RML Hospital, Delhi. It is said that cosmetic products can harm the skin, but they have no direct relation with breast cancer. But still these products should be reduced.
Dr. Saloni says that the main cause of breast cancer at a young age is poor diet and spoiled lifestyle. The trend of smoking and alcohol consumption has also increased among women, which are risk factors for this cancer.
Dr. Saloni says that there are many such cases where women aged between 35 to 40 years are falling victim to this cancer. Whereas earlier there were less cases of cancer at this age. According to Dr. Saloni, the reason for cancer cases being reported at a young age is that now more people are being diagnosed than before and women are also becoming aware about this disease.
