Anil Aggarwal told in a post shared on X that Agnivesh had suffered serious injuries after an accident while skiing in America. After this he was admitted to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. During treatment, Agnivesh suffered cardiac arrest, after which he died.

Anil Agarwal further wrote, No words can describe the pain of a parent who has to say goodbye to their child. The son should not go before his father. This loss has broken us in ways we are still trying to understand.

Anil Aggarwal further wrote, I still remember the day when Agnivesh was born on June 3, 1976 in Patna. From a middle-class Bihari family, he grew up as a strong, kind and purposeful person. He was the light of his mother’s life, a protective brother, a loyal friend and a noble man.

Agnivesh was a player, a musician, a leader. He studied at Mayo College, Ajmer, then he founded one of the best companies, Fujairah Gold. Became the chairman of Hindustan Zinc and earned the respect of his colleagues and friends. Yet, beyond all the titles and achievements, he remained simple, friendly and human at heart. To me, he was not just my son. He was my friend. my proud. My world. Kiran and I are heartbroken. In our grief we remind ourselves that the thousands of youth working at Vedanta are also our children.
