Breaking News Live Updates: At least 31 people were killed after a stampede-like situation broke out during a rally of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam chief Vijay in Karur on Saturday. Several others, including children, fainted amid the chaos. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin described the reports from Karur as “worrisome” and said he had directed Health Minister Ma Subramanian and the district collector to provide all possible assistance. Stalin is expected to visit the site on Sunday. According to a PTI report, the crowd became uncontrollable as Vijay addressed the gathering, with many party workers and children collapsing and falling unconscious.
