An interesting news of a delivery agent coming to rescue a boy who accidentally got trapped in the balcony of his house early in the morning is doing the rounds on social media. This incident is from Pune. Trapped on the balcony at 3 in the morning, the boy resorted to online delivery platform ‘Blinkit’ instead of calling the police or friends for help.
Mihir Gahukar, a resident of Pune, shared this unique experience with a video on his X (Twitter) account. Mihir and his friend had gone to the balcony at around 3 in the morning. But they did not realize and the balcony door accidentally got locked from behind. His parents were sleeping deeply inside the house. The boys were worried that they would panic if they tried to wake them up. The phone was in hand, but amidst the confusion as to whom to call so late in the night, the boy came up with the idea of ordering goods from Blinkit. He immediately ordered some snacks from the Blinkit app and clearly wrote in the ‘delivery instruction’ column that he was stuck in the balcony and requested for help in opening the door.
Within a few minutes the delivery agent reached the spot. The agent who brought the order opened the door as per the boy’s instructions and took him out. The boy wrote that the agent helped him more than just the food he ordered. This post went viral within no time. Blinkit CEO Alambinder Dhindsa also reacted to the incident. He praised the delivery partner who solved the customer’s problem. Along with delivering food on time, delivery agents who provide such help are being praised a lot on social media. While many people are jokingly calling it a ‘smart move’, there is also discussion on how useful such services can be in an emergency.
