Box office report: Dhurandhar races past Rs 1,200 crore as The Raja Saab loses steam

Box office report: The Hindi box office continues to offer a tale of sharp contrasts, with one film rewriting records while others struggle to keep pace. On January 15, the numbers once again highlighted how unpredictable theatrical runs can be, even when big stars are involved.

At the top of the chart sits Dhurandhar, led by Ranveer Singh. Even on its 42nd day in cinemas, the film refuses to slow down. Scroll down to read the full report in detail!

Dhurandhar box office collection worldwide

According to Sacnilk, Dhurandhar earned Rs 3 crore on Thursday, matching its Wednesday figures. That kind of hold, this deep into its run, is rare. The film’s total India net collection now stands at a staggering Rs 816.60 crore. Worldwide, it has crossed Rs 1,299.56 crore, making it the highest-grossing Indian film released this year so far. In the process, it has comfortably overtaken Kantara Chapter 1, which earned between Rs 850 and Rs 900 crore globally.

The Raja Saab box office collection

On the other hand, The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas, is facing a more uneven journey. The film opened to massive expectations and a thunderous first day, but momentum has steadily dipped. On its seventh day, Thursday, the film collected Rs 4.48 crore. With that, its seven-day total stands at Rs 129.23 crore.

A look at the daily breakdown tells the story clearly. The Raja Saab stormed in with Rs 53.75 crore on Day 1. Day 2 followed with Rs 26 crore, and Day 3 added Rs 19.10 crore. From there, collections dropped sharply. Day 4 brought in Rs 6.60 crore, followed by Rs 4.80 crore on Day 5. The film saw a slight recovery on Day 6 with Rs 5.35 crore, but Day 7 dipped again to Rs 4.48 crore. While the total is still strong, the slowdown suggests mixed word of mouth is affecting repeat footfalls.

Ikkis box office collection

Meanwhile, Ikkis continues to lag behind its competitors. The film earned just Rs 43 lakh on Thursday, which marked its 15th day in theatres. The worldwide collection of the film stands at Rs 40.3 crore; meanwhile, the India net collection is Rs 30.64 crore. Compared to the towering numbers posted by Dhurandhar and the still-respectable run of The Raja Saab, Ikkis has struggled to find a steady audience.
