The 2-match test series between India and South Africa is going to start from 14th November. The first match of the series will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata from 14th November to 18th November. Under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, Team India will be eyeing to win another Test series at home. But the bowlers selected for this series have increased the tension of captain Gill and head coach Gautam Gambhir, due to the poor performance of the bowlers. Due to which India A recently had to face defeat against South Africa A.
bad condition of indian bowling
Akash Deep, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammad Siraj have been selected as bowlers in Team India’s squad for this series to be played against South Africa. These four bowling bowlers are known for destroying the batting of even the biggest teams. But recently, 3 out of these 4 bowlers had played an unofficial test match against South Africa A. These three bowlers are Akash Deep, Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammad Siraj. But all these three bowlers failed in that match.
In the last innings of this unofficial test match, South Africa had a target of 417 runs, which is impossible to chase in the last innings of a test match in Indian conditions. But in front of this star bowling lineup, South Africa surprised everyone by achieving it at the loss of just 5 wickets. Akash Deep and Kuldeep Yadav spent runs at an economy of around 5, which is the biggest tension for the team. Both these bowlers failed to save runs.
Akash Deep spent 106 runs
Akash Deep is going to make a comeback in the team from this series. But in this unofficial test match, Akash Deep proved to be very expensive. He spent 106 runs in 22 overs and took only 1 wicket. At the same time, Siraj took 1 wicket for 53 runs in 17 overs. Kuldeep Yadav could not take a wicket even after conceding 81 runs in 17 overs. In such a situation, if the performance of Indian bowlers remains the same then their 15 years long reign against South Africa may end.
Threat to 15 years of rule
Actually, the South African team has a very poor record in Tests in India. The African team has been yearning to win a Test match on Indian soil for the last 15 years. South Africa last achieved this feat in the year 2010. Then the Test between India and South Africa was played on the grounds of Nagpur, in which the African team won by an innings and 6 runs. Then, due to the strong performance of Hashim Amla and Jacques Kallis, South Africa had scored 558 runs in the first innings. But the Indian batsmen were flops in both the innings.
