According to reports, the film sold 55,223 tickets all over the country for its opening day business by 12 pm on Tuesday. Looks like this one is going to give a strong competition to Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar.

Sunny Deol as Lt Col Fateh Singh Kaler
Sunny Deol is the only actor returning from the original 1997 film. He will be playing the role of Lt Col Fateh Singh Kaler from the 6 Sikh Regiment. According to reports, his character is loosely based on Major General Hardev Singh Kler.

Border 2 is based on real life incidents. While its predecessor focused on the Army’s Battle of Longewala, the sequel depicts a broader scope of the 1971 India-Pakistan War, specifically focusing on the events surrounding Operation Chengiz Khan. Operation Chengiz Khan was the code name for the Pakistan Air Force’s preemptive strikes on Indian Air Force forward airbases and radar installations on the evening of December 3, 1971, formally marking the start of hostilities in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
