There was a strong group of women, the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) who worked tirelessly to bring this report to the public. They weren’t alone in this effort; they had the support of the legal system as well.”

While promoting her film Emergency, Kangana Ranaut spoke on Hema Committee Report. She claimed that a report should have been released during the #MeToo movement too. Referring to Hema Committee report and talking about her experience during #MeToo movement, Kangana said, “I had vocally spoken about it, in favour of the women. But then their silence was bought with money. I kept searching for them, but they vanished. Some of them signed a few films with the same people, and I kept searching for them. I am very disappointed with these women. I was left alone, and became the problematic person.”
