Farah Khan’s comedy film Tees Maar Khan, starring Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles, has gradually gained cult status over the years.
Though now considered one of Bollywood’s most entertaining “brain rot” films, it remains one of the Om Shanti Om filmmaker’s biggest flops. While the film has found appreciation from fans in hindsight, the debacle still lingers in Farah Khan’s memory.
Bollywood Celebrated Failure Of Tees Maar Khan: Farah Khan
In a recent video on her YouTube channel, Farah opened up about the film’s failure and revealed that many in the industry were actually pleased with its downfall.
Talking about the film, she told actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani, “Tees Maar Khan is a legend among Gen Z. They don’t care about my other films. Karenge, banayenge, aur badi banayenge.” She, however, added, “I remember during Tees Maar Khan’s release, there was literally a celebration in the film industry. People who I have worked with were like, ‘Abhi aayi na line par.'”
“In our industry, more than being happy for your success, people are happy for other people’s failure,” said Farah.
Made on a budget of Rs 45 crore, the film had earned over Rs 100 crore. However, it was still considered a box office dud.
Farah Khan Hilariously Trolls Jackky
The Main Hoon Na director also took a hilarious jibe at the Pooja Entertainments head. “Jackky, hum logon ko bhi producer banna hai,” she teased as she entered their beautiful home. To which he replied, “Producer nahi banna.”
Farah then told her cook Dilip, “Don’t become a producer, because they had ten floors earlier and after they became producers, only 5 are left.”
