Dharmendra might have left the mortal planes forever, but his legacy continues to inspire his loved ones. His younger son, Bobby Deol, recently shared a video featuring the late legendary actor on the sets of the upcoming movie, Ikkis.
Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the movie will open in the theatres on the New Year.
On his Instagram stories, Bobby Deol posted a video capturing Dharmendra in his last days. In the clip, the late actor can be heard praising the producers, the director, as well as the entire team of Ikkis. He said, “I’m extremely happy to be with the Maddock Films, the team, the captain Sriram ji.”
Dharmendra’s Special Message For His Last Film, Ikkis
Dharmendra continued, “The film is done in a very nice way. I think in India and Pakistan both should see the picture. I’m a bit happily sad today for the last day of shooting. I love you all.” The video also featured an array of behind-the-scenes moments from the movie, Ikkis. At the end, he was captured on the sets of the war drama while interacting humbly with the team members as he bid them adieu. “Kuch kahi koi galti hogayi ho uske liye shama karna (Please forgive me if I have made any mistakes),” he concluded.
Sharing the video, Dharmendra’s doting son penned a short note that reads “Love you papa,” revealing how he misses the legendary actor every single day.
Dharmendra On Playing A Poignant Role In Ikkis
The Sholay star is set to bring back the magic on-screen for one last time with the film based on the 1971 Indo-Pak war. He will play the role of M.L. Khetarpal, father of Agastya Nanda’s on-screen character Arun Khetarpal.
In the trailer video, Dharmendra can be heard echoing the deep sorrows of many fathers whose sons were martyred for the nation. In one of the scenes, he asks, “Usse puchunga woh uss din peeche kyun nhi hata tha?” As Jaideep Ahlawat tells him, “Woh dushmano ko hatana chahta tha sir,” the late actor, with a sincerity in his tone, questions, “Kaun dushman,” and the video transitions to many other scenes.
The video ends with Dharmendra saying, “Yeh meri family, chota beta Mukesh 50 saal ka hai aur ye bara beta Arun, ye hamesha Ikkis ka hi rahega.”
Sharing the film’s trailer on Instagram, Bobby Deol wrote, “My precious papa, love you.”

Ikkis Follows The Life Of Arun Khetrapal
The war drama is based on the life of Paramvir Chakra awardee Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal, who was martyred at the age of 21. The film’s title pays tribute to the young war hero who sacrificed his life for the country.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Binny Padda under the banner of Maddock Films, Ikkis will hit the theatres on January 1.
