Bobby Deol begins filming for ‘Aashram 4’, makers announce new chapter of popular series

Actor Bobby Deol has begun filming for the much-awaited fourth season of the popular web series ‘Aashram’, with the makers announcing the start of production on Saturday.

Prakash Jha Productions shared the update on Instagram by posting a photograph of a clapperboard bearing the title ‘Aashram 4’, placed at a place of worship. The production house captioned the post, “Ek Aur aarambh … Aashram ke naye adhyay mein aapka swagat hai. Japnaam … Aashram 4 now filming!”

The announcement immediately sparked excitement among fans, who welcomed the return of the series.

Bobby Deol will reprise his widely recognised role as Baba Nirala, the self-styled godman at the centre of the drama. The fourth season is expected to stream on MX Player, which also hosted the earlier instalments.

The upcoming season will also feature returning cast members including Aaditi Pohankar as Pammi, Chandan Roy Sanyal as Bhopa Swami, Darshan Kumar, Anupriya Goenka, Esha Gupta, Adhyayan Suman and Tridha Choudhury.

Directed by Prakash Jha, ‘Aashram’ follows Baba Nirala and his rise as a powerful godman while exploring the intersection of blind faith, politics and crime. The character builds an influential empire while concealing a series of dark secrets.

The first season premiered on MX Player on August 28, 2020, followed by the second season on November 11 that year. The third season arrived in June 2022.

With the earlier seasons generating significant audience interest, expectations are high for the fourth chapter.

Bobby Deol also has several other projects in his upcoming lineup, including ‘Jana Nayagan’, ‘Teesvin Manzil’, ‘Desi Sherlock Holmes’, ‘The Huntersent’ and an untitled film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
