The incident took place on 26 June 2025, when 38 -year -old Fazor Ali of Ramchandrapur Pachakitta village allegedly entered and assaulted the victim’s father’s house at around 10 pm. The victim, whose husband works in Dubai, was staying at her father’s house with her children for the local festival Hari service. According to the statement of the case, Ali forcibly entered the house and assaulted her when the victim refused to open the door. The locals caught Ali and beat him, but he managed to escape from the spot.

Police arrested Fazor Ali from Saidabad area of ​​Dhaka at around 5 am on Sunday morning. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Women and Children’s Harassment Act on the basis of written complaint filed on 27 June by the victim. The Muradnagar police has started investigating the case. In addition, the incident has promoted protests in the region, in which the residents have expressed anger over the alleged attack on the Hindu woman by a Muslim person. Ever since Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was removed from the post, there has been a significant increase in target attacks against the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
