BMW ends Alpina XB7 production with a limited-run

New Delhi: Production of the BMW Alpina XB7 is close to an end. In order to celebrate that, the brand is producing a special Manufaktur edition for the United States and Canada. Under the bonnet, you get BMW’s twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre S68 V8 engine mated with the eight-speed Alpina Switch-Tronic transmission that gets a 48-volt integrated motor.

The XB7 makes 631 bhp and almost 800 Nm of torque, which makes the SUV go from 0-100 kph in just 3.9 seconds.

There are two new colours coming, the Frozen Alpina Green and Frozen Alpina Blue. The SUV comes with Shadowline high-gloss black exterior trim around the grille, window, intakes and tailpipes and unique badging as well. It rides on 23-inch Alpina Classic 20-spoked forged wheels as standard.

On the inside, the front headrests come with Alpina branding in either green or blue, with the rest of the cabin trimmed in Tartufo Full Merino leather and Walnut Nature Black trim. Second-row captain’s chairs, the Bower & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system, and two brown Lavalina leather weekender bags come as standard.

BMW will be making the limited-run SUV in their Spartanburg, South Carolina, factory. Alpina X7 had started at this factory back in 2020, making it the first Alpina made outside the brand’s workshop in Germany. With Alpina under BMW’s control, of course, it’s clear BMW wants to make Alpina come to the same standards as the Mercedes-Maybach. So it could mean that somewhere down the line, we will see the X7 coming with the Alpina badge.
