Due to a big mistake of Bengaluru University, 400 M.Com students have failed. This problem occurred due to wrong entry of dissertation and viva marks on the UUCMS portal. The university has assured to improve the results after investigation and resolve the problem in 10-15 days.
Belagavi: Due to a major mistake of Bengaluru University, 400 M.Com students from different colleges affiliated to it have failed in the final semester results. There is a lot of anger and concern among the students due to this incident. It has been revealed that this irregularity has happened because of the examination department. Actually, the Commerce Study Center Department entered wrong information while uploading the dissertation (project work) and viva results of M.Com students on the University and College Management System (UUCMS) portal of the Higher Education Department. Because of this, around 400 students have failed without any mistake, which has created a big problem.
This problem has not only happened with the students of the colleges affiliated to the university, but it has been learned that the results of the M.Com students studying in Bengaluru University itself have also been wrongly recorded by the Commerce Centre.
As per the rules, the university itself conducts and evaluates the examinations for the students of affiliated colleges. After this, it is the responsibility of the heads of the concerned departments to upload the result carefully on UUCMS without any mistake. But, teachers and management sources of different colleges say that while uploading the results of the commerce department, the same marks were uploaded in dissertation and viva for all the students. Because of this, 400 students who were supposed to pass also failed.
Which colleges are included
According to the information received, G.T. College, BGSB School College, St. Clare’s College, Sri Veda College, Soundarya College and some other private colleges are worried about failure. Now only after investigation it will be known whether the department has not given the correct result or the examination department has uploaded the wrong numbers.
Threat of cancellation of affiliation if you raise your voice
Sources have said that when university officials are asked about this mistake, they reply casually. He says, ‘It is not our fault, this has happened due to a technical problem. We will investigate and fix it. Do not tell this matter to anyone. If this news goes out, the affiliation of your college will be cancelled. Such threats are being given.
What did Bengaluru University Registrar (Evaluation) Chandrakant tell…
This may happen due to technical problem. Sometimes such problems also arise when colleges do not provide proper information about students’ attendance, dissertation and viva to the university. With 400 students the chances of having a problem are less. We will investigate what caused this problem. The college principal and department head should appeal for improvement in the result on the UUCMS portal so that the problem can be resolved. This may take 10 to 15 days. Students need not worry.
