In a significant turn of events in Hollywood’s most notable legal dispute, Blake Lively and her legal team are rejoicing in what they describe as a “total victory” after actor-director Justin Baldoni opted not to amend or refile his substantial $400 million countersuit against her and husband Ryan Reynolds. The countersuit, which garnered attention for months, was initially dismissed by a judge earlier in June. Baldoni had until June 23 to revise and refile his claims, which included breach of implied covenant and tortious interference with contract. However, his legal team has now confirmed that they will not be proceeding with the same claims and will instead be exploring new legal avenues.
The judge’s dismissal of Justin Baldoni’s countersuit marks a significant moment for Lively, although the legal saga is far from concluded. Her original lawsuit against Baldoni remains active and is now entering the discovery phase. This indicates that both parties will start collecting and presenting evidence for the upcoming round of proceedings.

Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, issued a statement following the dismissal, “The Court’s decision on the motion to dismiss has no impact whatsoever on the truth that there was no harassment nor any smear campaign; discovery is proceeding and we are confident that we will prevail against these factually baseless accusations.”
He also refuted any allegations of misconduct, asserting that there was no harassment or smear campaign involved.
